You go to the dentist because of a toothache, or maybe for your biannual checkup, and you get the bad news: you need a crown. You'll have to schedule two appointments – one for preparation and placement of a temporary crown, and another for placement of the permanent crown. Do you have that kind of time to spare? Between the appointments, your temporary crown could crack or fall out, and then you'd have to make yet another trip to the dentist. A crown is important, though, so you shouldn't delay treatment. A crown can salvage a tooth that may otherwise have to be removed and replaced with a prosthetic. Thanks to CEREC, you can now get the care you need in one convenient visit.

We Feel Your Pain

We understand the inconvenience patients face when getting a crown the traditional way. In the past, patients would normally have to attend at least two visits, get a messy dental impression taken, and spend a week or more with an unreliable dental crown. All in all, the process was slow, annoying, and interfered with many patients’ busy schedules. Because your time is as valuable as your smile to us, we now use a revolutionary tool that can mill a permanent crown in about an hour: CEREC.

How CEREC Works

After taking a 3D scan of your tooth, it will be sent to a machine that will enable Dr. Calderwood to digitally design your new crown. Once he is finished, this design will be given to our in-house milling machine, which will carve the crown from a solid piece of dental porcelain. Dr. Calderwood will then place the crown into your mouth and bond it into place. From beginning to end, the entire process only takes about 1 to 2 hours.
